Playing a set Friday evening at 9:40 pm and holding a workshop on dropthumb banjo technique and songwriting Saturday morning at 11 am. Looking forward to this fine weekend of music amongst the trees of Ohio’s late golden summer.
I’m really proud to have organized this event with Warehouse Workers for Justice and the Hideout. Warehouse workers sacrifice their lives for our new convenience economy and WW4J helps them fight for a fair wage, benefits, and safe work conditions. Please tune in tonight at Hideout’s Noon Chorus page and support! It’s going to be a great show.

2018 marks 6 years of Winter Slumbers at the Empty Bottle. We are honored to make one of Chicago’s finest music havens our home for 3 months out of the year. The community that has grown at our Slumber residency inspires the music we make and gives it an emotional home. In the Winter, we rest in Chicago, in the warm embrace of our loving friends and family.
After years of informal pass-the-hat donations for the Chicago Community Bond Fund at the Slumber, we decided to make fund-raising for righteous causes an official part of the party! Now, every month the Winter Slumber community will throw down dollars to support a different rad cause!
This January we supported the Kedzie Center, a community mental health center serving the North River area on the north side of Chicago. The Kedzie Center approaches mental health care as a community issue and works to break down barriers to care like income, language, and stigma. By making care accessible in a community setting the Kedzie Center provides a place for people to go before their mental health becomes a crisis.
See you at the next Winter Slumber February 4th at the Empty Bottle at 2 PM!
Excited to get on the road again and play these cool shows with these cool folks. I hope to see you all out there. Come say hi!
Check out specifics on my tour page here. Keep up with regular updates from the road on my socials below.
I’m excited to be playing a benefit show with Dan Bitney and Sima Cunningham this Tuesday, October 3rd, at The Hideout. Our goal is help bring the Chicago Children’s Choir to the school. You can grab tickets here.
Head over to our Bandcamp page and buy some tunes! Today Bandcamp is donating 100% of their profits to Transgender Law Center. We are proud to stand with Bandcamp in supporting the rights of transgender people!
